I grew up in Norwalk, Connecticut, reading my dad's old comics, favoring the X-Men, and making short films with my three siblings. That sparked my interest in Marvel and superheroes in general.
My early involvement in acting and musical theatre, along with my participation in school choir and a cappella groups, helped shape my interest in storytelling and performance. My favorite musical to watch is Wicked, but my favorite musical I have acted in is Curtains: The Musical.
Outside of film, I explored different athletics like figure skating and ice hockey. Additionally, as my first dream as a kid was to be a chef with my own restaurant, I enjoy cooking a variety of different cuisines and will prepare almost any recipe I come across.
When I started my filmmaking journey, I leaned toward anything with a fantastical element, such as genres like science fiction, fantasy, supernatural, and superheroes. As I started writing more, I started to branch out. Writing short scripts for film school made me feel the pressure to write something realistic, especially when dealing with a student film budget. As a result, I began to enjoy writing grounded comedies or dramas without flashy powers and otherworldly creatures.
While I still lean towards the fantastical, writing stories and characters grounded in my own experiences is more important than fitting into a specific genre. This approach brings a healthy variety to my short films and writing samples.
During my time at Rochester Institute of Technology, where I earned my BFA in Film Production with a focus on directing, I also pursued a minor in Business Administration to gain more experience on the business side to balance my interest in the creative.
Moreover, I worked with the RIT Sports Network, which gave me hands-on experience in fast-paced live production environments. Specifically, I operated the RoboCams and corner cameras for Division 1 Hockey Games, while setting up and camera operating for Division 3 athletic livestreams
Furthermore, I managed the social media, apparel, and treasury operations for the RIT Steel Bridge Club, a student organization. There, I developed skills in branding, organization, and production logistics.
